both Sheldon and Amy are correct in a way, the Earl of sandwich or whoever tf popularized them and invented the name and idea of 'sandwich' however the idea of meat or something at all between bread has been done for centuries, but has been called other names or wasn't even given a name, it was referred to as meat between bread. which by classification is a sandwich, but they didnt see it as a 'sandwich' nor did anyone else call them that until the earl made the name and idea popular, is that underatandable?
