Some people in the comments want vengeance and wanna see the brand/others involved burn. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to de-escalate the situation. I just hope you’re not carrying that responsibility by yourself. You’ve gone out of your way to give grace, understand everyone’s perspective, and lower the temperature, but that shouldn’t come at the cost of people explaining away your experience. You were hurt, and making content about it doesn’t change that.

Hey maybe you don’t want to hear this but the friends you went to the event with are not good friends. On that influencers live she said that they were distancing themselves from you after you shared your story. Sounds like they’re abandoning you at your lowest. Its wild behavior and you deserve people that make you feel seen and lift you up

When I saw your video of speaking up, I was so so proud because I am one of the ppl who would be silent and put excuses for them and say it is fine even though I would be hurt because that’s how I was taught growing up 💔 i hope this is not the case for you where you spoke up but overthought and regret it. I absolutely believe they lost that gift but their response in your original video like the comment that they made was absolutely disgusting because they tried to make it seem like giving it to you would be basically charity work because they said it’s not a giveaway as if they’re not giving away Louis Vuitton items but you’ve handled this situation a lot better than I would’ve.

I saw your first videos, thought it was messed up, but had no idea what the brand was and scrolled away. The other influencer’s video came up on my fyp and named the brand etc. THEN I saw the other content creators blowing the story up. They OUTED THEMSELVES.

Ugh it’s so sad people won’t stand up for anything not even their selves! Willfully being naive is certainly a choice. Communication was key, they could’ve told you they were looking for the gift & would sent it if they couldn’t find it before you left and that would’ve avoided all of this.

I understand wanting to deescalate and I would probably do the same. Just want to say your feelings are valid and there is nothing wrong with sharing your experience. Especially something that feels so isolating. I went through something similar (in my personal life) and it was really validating to see the responses and know it’s not okay to be treated like that. 💕

Honestly, it’s great that you posted your experience because that brand really needs to understand how badly they dropped the ball. It doesn’t matter if they’re a small, young, or foreign brand. What matters is they handled this whole thing with complete negligence and need to have a serious AAR to understand all of their mistakes so as to not repeat it in the future. Thank you for sharing your story and I’m sorry that happened to you and wasn’t immediately resolved.
