Late afternoon at a high-end beach club on the French Riviera — somewhere between Saint-Tropez and Cannes. The sun is approximately 45 minutes from the horizon, turning everything the colour of warm honey. The beach club has white cotton daybeds with natural linen cushions arranged in rows stepping down toward the sea. Private parasols in ecru linen are casting long, warm, dappled shadows across the white travertine flooring. The infinity pool runs parallel to the ocean — the water is a deep jewel blue against the white stone surround, throwing shifting caustic light patterns across everything. The Mediterranean is visible beyond the pool edge — a darker, richer blue meeting the golden horizon. Other guests exist as warm, blurred shapes in the background — enough to feel real, not enough to be identifiable. Low music is implied. The smell of Monoï oil and sea air is everywhere.
SUBJECT ACTIVITY:
She has just stood up from her daybed and is walking the three steps toward the pool edge — not to swim, just to stand at the edge and look at the sea. She is mid-step, weight transferred, looking out toward the ocean horizon. One hand is raised slightly to push her sunglasses back up her nose. She does not know the photo is being taken. Her body language is completely loose and unhurried — weight slightly on one hip, the casual ease of someone on the fourth day of a holiday who has completely switched off. Her expression is soft and private — not performing anything. Just a girl at the edge of a pool looking at the sea.
