When I was a CNA, I’d walk past the provider lounge and think everyone in there was so accomplished. Sitting at that table felt impossible. Now I’m in that room every day, and I never want to forget what it felt like to be on the outside looking in. Currently in PA school. I remember trying to figure out a way to even get a job in healthcare coming from a non healthcare family where college isn’t really a thing. I started off as a dietary aid, I was so excited to wear scrubs. Then became a dental assistant, and then respiratory therapist, now I’m in freaking PA school. I still cannot believe it. I’m shook. Like how the heck did I end up here!? All those jobs I remember thinking all the DR/NP/PAs being so cool and how I could never.
