my french teacher in high school told me about psychological phenomenon about the brain and languages! she told me that if you were to suddenly wake up in another country that does not speak the same language as you, your brain will go into survival mode and learn the language quickly! i always found that fascinating.

I speak 3 languages fluently and two others half way.. The best method is to TALK in that language. Doesn't matter if it's right or wrong (don't aim for perfection) , just speak what you know and Do Not translate. I'm an English teacher myself
