Sad fact too, in real life, cordyceps doesn’t kill its host (an insect) right away. It infects it, controls its behavior while it’s still alive, then kills it once it’s in the perfect spot (death grip on a leaf in a tree or something similar) to spread spores. In The Last of Us, it’s legit like… gut wrenching tbh. The fungus takes over a person’s brain and body, and it’s heavily implied that especially early on in the “infection”, they may still be alive and even somewhat conscious. They legit just can’t control themselves. Over time, the fungus completely takes over until the person they are essentially gone. The clickers have little to no consciousness left at all :/

Si lo pensamos bien es muy triste ya que en realidad ellos no están muertos, solo están infectados y son conscientes de todo lo que pasa. Por ejemplo a los corredores aveces se les puede escuchar llorando y diciendo "No quiero hacer esto" "Por favor, ayuda"
