Got Dirty Whites 🧺? They don’t teach this stuff anymore so I’m going to tell you. Fill your tub or sink with HOT water. Add your laundry detergent. For the best result go dye-free and powder detergent. I mix in baking soda with the detergent and fully dissolve , then add all your whites. (It’s okay to mix corten, linen and synthetic at this stage, but you’ll want to wash and dry separately.) Then you’ll add your clothes/towels/sheets. You want a towel or sheet on top to keep everything fully submerged. Grab something to push everything down and stir. Once it’s all saturated in the hot, soapy water you’re going to add lemon juice. From the supermarket. Nothing fancy. A large bottle of it. This is your whitening agent. The citric acid is nature’s whitening agent. You can take it a step further — air dry in direct sunlight and the sun with activate the chemical compounds the keep whitening. You whites will literally start to shine. Then you’re going to add a whole bottle of white vinegar. The acetic acid breaks down the mineral buildup making your fabrics grey and dingy. You’ll see the water start to turn brown within the hour. LET IT COOK! Leave your whites in this pre-soak for 8 hours or overnight. Then wash your whites in hot water with your laundry detergent and they will come out whiter than the day you bought them. (Except for towels which get hard when you air dry) Try air drying your laundry. The dryer will bake those stains in over time. Do this to your whites every 6 months, or 4 for heavy use. #cleaning #laundry #cleaningmotivation #cleaninghacks #sundayreset
