@thepottymouthguru: One of the hardest parts of healing is grieving the person you thought you were. Not because that person was real. Because the wound convinced you they were. The wound said: 👉 You’re too much. 👉 You’re not enough. 👉 You’re a burden. 👉 You’re difficult. 👉 You’re unlovable. 👉 You’re broken. And after hearing it enough times, you stopped questioning it. You started building an identity around it. Healing can feel disorienting because you’re not just changing behaviors. You’re challenging conclusions you’ve carried for years. Sometimes decades. And when those conclusions start falling apart, there’s often a period where people ask: 👉 Then who am I? That’s not a sign you’re losing yourself. It’s often a sign you’re meeting yourself underneath the wound for the first time. ❤️🤟🏻🌿 #unfuckyourself #thepottymouthguru #selfawareness #attachmentstyles #relationaltrauma

So true! And that grief transforms into something beautiful if you can stay honest with it.

i love your content. this is something that needs to be talked about. ive spent a lot of time in therapy offices & have never heard anything about wounds and how they are expressed. and definitely nothing about healing them. thank you for the education.

Ahh yes. How do we form identity? How do we separate past scars and consequences from the present self? i wonder if we know it's even possible to do that😁 I realize I was wounded and now I'm healing, therefore I am🤣

You are by far my favourite content creator. I have unlocked so much progress from your videos! This explains how shame can fit within my system. I used to push it aside and now I'm trying to sit with it but that doesn't make a lot of sense either, like I can't just agree that I'm horrible and end the story there, that's not helpful, right? So just like any emotions I just recognize that is a piece of me but it will never be the whole, and nor is it something I should banish, it will always have its place. I don't know why or how it has a place but it does, maybe it's so I can relate to others better?

you know what profoundly helped me with this? i thought back to the last time that i felt free inside my own head without all this vitriol from my superego. that happened to be at about 4-5 years old. the more i sat with little me, i became able to parse which parts were core me and which parts were adaptations of core me/injured parts. they started to unravel from there and i could interact with them individually then to heal. it manifested inside of me like jungian active imagination or vision work. and as i meditated in that space, i literally started to organize it like an inner clerk. but the key component was letting myself feel my undefiled and purest self bc then i felt the pangs of all the times she was injured. and that's where the work was.
