from someone with a strict mom: the sooner u realize u can’t do anything to be “free”, stop lying and play their game, sooner it’ll get easier, not better, probably they’ll keep strict but trusting more in you, so you’ll have some opportunities to do almost whatever u want. i’m 21, never slept out of home, my curfew extended to 11pm just this year, once i was allowed to arrive at 12am… but it’s hard tho

My parents used to be way stricter with me in high school than that they were with my younger brother. I used to have curfews to be at home, no phone & hanging out when having bad grades and a few other things (until I went to college, since I went the furthest one, so I was able to have some freedom), while my brother got the chill treatment most of the time
