@dilzeditz_: ~ Wisdom over tradition..🕊️ ~ භාග්‍යවතුන් වහන්සේ මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේ "පිරිසිදුකම යනු චරිතය මිස ජලය නොවන බවයි." කෙනෙකු තමා කළ අකුසල් පිළිබඳව පසුතැවිලි වී, නැවත එම අකුසල් නොකරන බවට අධිෂ්ඨාන කරගෙන, සිල්වත් ගුණවත් ජීවිතයක් ගත කිරීමයි සැබෑ පවිත්‍රතාව. ගංගා වල නෑමෙන් වෙහෙසට පත් වුවත්, සිතේ ඇති කසට (ලෝභ, දෝස, මෝහ) සෝදාගත නොහැකි බව බුදුන් වහන්සේ ඉතා පැහැදිලිව දේශනා කළහ. මෙම සිදුවීම මගින් බුදුන් වහන්සේ එකල තිබූ අන්ධ විශ්වාසයන් විද්‍යාත්මක සහ තාර්කික ප්‍රවේශයකින් බිඳ දැමීමට කටයුතු කළ ආකාරය අපට දැකගත හැකියි.. ~ The Lord Buddha emphasized that "purity lies in one's character, not in water." True purification comes from acknowledging one's past unwholesome actions (akusala), making a firm determination not to repeat them, and living a virtuous and ethical life. The Buddha clearly taught that while one may become physically exhausted from bathing in rivers, one cannot wash away the stains of the mind (greed, hatred, and delusion). Through this incident, we can see how the Buddha worked to dismantle the blind beliefs of that era using a scientific and rational approach.. #buddha #wisdom #dhamma #mindfulness #truth
