EXACTLY OH MY GOD FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT. We read from xl's pov so we just, what, expect mu qing to also be extremely loyal to xl? He was the only one thinking rationally and anyone in his position would do the same. From his perspective its all so much different because of the heaven and earth kind of difference between him and xl, and even the way fx treated him.

Mu Qing is such a good character because despite his past and everything he went through, he genuinely cared for xielian, and just wanted to be equals, muqing despiced the social classes and all that stuff, but never xie lian
