@andsalsares: these 3 techniques allow me to work 5x longer without burning out. 1. meditation (mostly GIM) meditation is EXTREMELY underrated. it's basically exercise for your brain and can mitigate the effects of stress (which is what causes burnout). it only takes a 10 minute investment each day and personally helps me stay calmer, more focused, and more aware. there are two types I practice, breathing meditation and GIM (guided imagery meditation). breathing meditation is geared towards focus and clarity while GIM is geard towards stress relief. 2. modified pomodoros you NEED to take breaks when working. here's my modified pomodoro technique: work in 50 minute blocks, take 10 minutes of rest. work another 50 minute block, then take 20-30 minutes rest. here's the modified part: do NOT just doomscroll or go on social media during breaks, but actively follow this protocol to reset and prime your brain for more work: 1. Do an exercise for a minute that gets your heart racing (I do 100 jumping jacks) 2. Stretch out and entire part of your body (lower or upper) This 2 step-process resets your brain, allows you to relax fully, and gets you primed for whatever is next. 3. HIW Health is Wealth—I can't undermine the importance of this. Focus primarily on your physical fitness level and your diet. When I eat terribly one day, I literally cannot do work for an extended period of time. Same with exercise, when I was injured and unable to exercise, I was less motivated, more tired, and did less work.
