When I was at school I perfected this type of napping. I’m a poor explainer, but basically it’s like you’re asleep for the most part but your hearing is still working? Lol like imagine that you’re sort of dreaming but your consciousness is also still a little present it’s just kinda in the background, and then suddenly you hear your name, since your consciousness was still kinda there you just open your eyes and take back over 😭 like I said I suck at explaining but that’s probably what he’s doing as well

I also kinda do that sometimes it's like your asleep but you can hear your surroundings and if you hear an order or your name you'll be instantly aware it's like your telling yourself to not sleep to deep because it's not the right place to sleep like school and other places

okay wait i kinda do that sometimes, basically he might just be closing his eyes and just drifting to sleep a bit but still staying conscious. just imagine it like you're on a floatie in water but your holding onto something that lets you roam but not let you go too far
