Cascate del Mulino is a natural thermal spring with terraced travertine pools that have formed over thousands of years. It is surrounded by the rolling hills of Tuscany and feels like it belongs in a fairytale! 📍Located in Saturnia, about 2 1/2 hours from Rome and 2 hrs 45 minutes from Florence. 💵 Admission is free 🕐 The thermal springs are open 24/7 🌅 It gets quite crowded during the day, plan to come at sunrise to avoid the crowds. 🚗 You will need to rent a car to get here, public transportation is not available. 🅿️ Parking is 2.50€ per hour. Bring coins. 🌡️ The water stays a warm 99.5° year round 🩴 Wear water shoes or sandals, the bottom of the spring is filled with tiny pebbles that hurt to walk on. 🚿 Hot showers are available for 1€ for 2 minutes. they’re lukewarm at best, I went to five different hot springs throughout Italy as Americans know them, when I was in Italy but something to realize and understand is that in Italy they call them a thermal pools and that it distinction is important over there their “hot springs” are no warmer than a luke warm bath that smells horrendous and take this from a guy who extremely enjoys tracking down Hot Springs in all of my travels. Unfortunately, the ones in Italy are quite beautiful But cold.
