I know everyone is patiently waiting for an update on my baby boy.. and as much as I want to give you one, I just don’t have one to give. His EKG, was fine. His CT was fine, so far his shunt tap was fine, still waiting on a few more results from that one. His urine is fine, full blood panel came back “wonky” but given so after a major surgery. He got one blood transfusion and absolutely no change in mental status nor heart rate. We stopped all of his Morphine early this morning and there has been no change in HR, and he stopped responding to pain. We have poked, cleaned, and moved him and he barely blinks his eyes. He is getting zero sedation.. so we do not understand why he is so lethargic. We have all racked our brains and ran every test we can think of, and still no answers nor improvement. The floor can no longer maintain his needs so we are being sent to the PICU for all hands on deck. There is talk of giving him a dose of steroids to see if he will perk up any, also some talk of an EEG to watch for hidden seizures and brain activity. At this point we are reaching for answers. In the back of all of our minds we just keep saying maybe he needs time. Time to rest, time for his body to catch up, time for everything to start coming back together..
