@queencitytrends: When moms walk in with a trash bag 💕 don’t worry she will look over everything to make sure I didn’t get rid of something she loves 😉 #closetcleanout #teensbelike #mykids #momslife
You need to have respect for her and let her chose what SHE wants to get rid of 😫

These kids get no privacy in any aspect of their lives. So sad

Yup! I would have been pissed. Plus 4-5 full bags of clothes. Your daughter is going into the 9th grade. You should have communicated with her about doing a closet clean out beforehand and made HER help you out. Then you gaslight her emotions by saying "you act like we don't buy you clothes". That is not the point! You wouldn't like that if someone did it to you. I usually agree with your parenting but this wasn't cool.

I love it but I think they should do it. They should be able to decide what they want to keep. I’m 30 and I still have clothes from middle school that I love and wear.

My undergrad is in psychology and my masters is in education. I love your videos and how you parent. I don’t agree with getting rid of her clothing without her consent or input. This comes off as very controlling, especially given her reaction- where is her autonomy in what she keeps or donates? I understand the rationale behind a closet clean out. I’d consider telling her she has to donate x amount of items and teaching her how to go through things and assess for what should be donated. That would be a great life skill for her!

I can admit your parenting is spot on perfection but I would have lost my mind if I came home and my mother decided what clothes that I did not want anymore. Clothing is something I personally use to express myself and my mom doesn’t know what clothes I do or do not like/actively wear to do so.
