Excellent, informative and very useful video. Thank you! It genuinely does feel like annihilation when trying to update one’s nervous system from these states. It takes real concerted effort and courage to do so but the results do come and are liberating from my personal experience.

What is happening if you feel as tho you’re experiencing both affects of this response to shame? If it’s too much to answer in text could you make a video on that please?

shame is catastrophic, I had a huge shame flood and mental breakdown and 2 years later I haven't recovered.

I’ve lived with chronic shame for a lifetime (only in the most recent months have finally managed to free myself from it’s tight grip) and maybe this isn’t the sort of shame you’re referring to here, because for me, I’m really clear on what created the story of shame for me and it was also through a therapist breaking down shame’s origin (verbally) that something finally clicked and I was able to realise the shame was a lie and not a truth I’d been made to believe.

Thank you, I've never looked at it like this, as a single mum, I constantly feel shame, can the breaking part be the opposite as in overly chatty, rebel, extrovert instead of disconnection? x
