Congress park pool is open. It was completely redone by the city during/shortly afterCovid. The pools are all elderly and need to be replaced.

1. Every single person that works at city pools has to be certified to lifeguard. 2. Lifeguards can’t afford to work for $16 an hour. 3. Chemical costs are insanely high. 4. All our old pools were built decades ago and need to be updated right now. My local pool is the heart of my area and nearly shutdown due to all these reasons.

Curtis park pool closed a year ahead of planned revamp because of maintenance issues and then city tried to deliver a half sized pool and immense neighborhood pushed back. Got the 50m pool back into the plan but they added a year to the timeline because of poor project management. 4+ years to redo a pool that will essentially be in the same spot

I was just talking about this last week! Like, sometimes, it’s nice to just go for a swim or to lay by an outdoor pool!!

From what I found, a lot of them need serious maintenance. One of them has to be completely replaced because it was leaking 16,000 gallons of water a day. The Ruby Hill one is going to be an adventure hub with a splash pad and Skate park, i think.

The two you named I’m pretty sure were being revamped but I know there was a major lifeguard shortage the last couple of years due to Covid because people couldn’t be certified. We could be moving over that speed bump now though

Curtis park is getting a revamp and they are expanding the pool! I think they plan to have it done for next summer. Congress park has been my go to since it’s been closed.
