I agree that people shouldn’t assume every act of kindness is romantic interest, and if someone develops feelings they should be honest about them. But that doesn’t mean close friendships between boys and girls are a problem. Friendship is valuable on its own. Most friendships don’t become relationships, and treating every close friendship as a potential romance can actually make genuine friendships harder.

Simply being close friends with the opposite sex is completely normal! It’s the persons choice to control their feelings and actions towards them. They shouldn’t distance themselves from Gods creation just because they develop feelings. Many people don’t experience romantically desires and feel comfortable around any person!

I think the wording here doesn’t really portray what you mean accurately. Men and women can be friends, there’s no issue with it. Feelings can develop sure, but that has nothing to do with whether or not men and women can be friends, but more so with how that situation is dealt with. The friendship itself has nothing to do with one developing feelings or not. Let’s not make stuff more difficult than they need to be, Mary Magdalene was friends with the disciples and Jesus.

I am a Christian but you absolutely can have a deep conversation and friendship with an opposite sex, even if you don’t have romantic feelings for her. It really depends on how she and you feel, if you’re both comfortable, then there’s nothing wrong. Jesus loves you
