Final Verdict 👀 The traditional Mexican cortadillo cake is top dog, hands down. The viral dot cake is fun and looks cool, but it’s much sweeter and way softer. The homemade cortadillo has a completely different texture and flavor that’s honestly 100x better. You can make cortadillo with box cake if you want, but homemade is definitely the way to go.
