The “your parents don’t owe you anything” comments are wild. They chose for you to be born. They literally owe you everything. I want anything and everything for my children. What’s mine is theirs for the rest of my life. I’ll do anything necessary to make sure they have the education and skills they need without crippling financial debt. That is my responsibility as a parent.

met a guy recently who said that he’s leaving many things for his kids and that everything will be left to both of them so that if his daughter, for example, got married and then divorced her ex wouldn’t have a right to half of it bc it belongs to her and her brother i loved that so much im still thinking about it

My grandmother in Croatia, who had grade 4 education, and was a widow, gifted all her land and house when her 5 children were in their twenties. She said -"you have motivation to build and create now. You will not have that later". All of her kids built houses there and thrived. She lived until she was 96, deeply loved and surrounded by by all her children and grandchildren.
