How do you personally handle a lot of the interpretations of extinct animals still seeming shrink-wrapped? I know a decent portion of this for me personally is that many of the things I associate with animals (fur, scales, etc) evolved after these animals, but it still puts me in a bit of an uncanny valley, because they don’t look like “basal” groups either (fish/amphibians/etc), though this may be to the osteoderms/etc being low quality? Or something else? I can’t quite out my finger on it but something feels “clearly off” if that makes sense
