I’ve interviewed 1000s of candidates & if you can’t answer these 4 interview questions… I’ve worked in recruitment for 10+ years and trust me, these 4 questions show up in every single interview. Here’s what hiring managers are actually listening for👇 1. “Tell me about yourself.” They don’t want your life story. They want to hear the story that connects you to this role. What problems can you solve? Keep it short, confident and relevant. Present → Past → Future. 2. “What’s your biggest strength or weakness?” They’re testing your self-awareness. Use STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Show how you recognised a challenge, took action and improved. 3. “Tell me about a challenge you faced.” They’re looking for your mindset. No one cares if the story is perfect. They care how you handled it. Did you stay accountable? Did you learn something? That’s what sticks. 4. “Why do you want this role?” They’re secretly asking: “Do you care about this company enough to understand us?” Talk about: * The company * The role * The impact you want to make * Why it’s the right next step for you The best candidates don’t memorise answers. They understand what the question is really asking. As someone with your recruitment background, I’d tweak #2#2lightly. I wouldn’t use STAR for a strength or weakness question. STAR is brilliant for behavioural questions (“Tell me about a challenge”, “Tell me about a time…”). For strengths (nobody asks you what are your weaknesses in a mature interview these days or they shouldn’t , I’d recommend: Strength * State the strength. * Give evidence. * Explain the impact. What you might need more training on (not weaknesses) * Be honest. * Show self-awareness. * Explain what you’ve done to improve it. ✅ Save this for later and follow for more tips #recruitersecrets #interviewtips #fyp
