Not enough people know this, there are enough independents around to get a coffee which is actually a better cheaper coffee than Starbucks and Costa.

If Starbucks left, other small coffee shops would pop up and guess what they would do? Create jobs. Still supply is with hot overpriced coffee anddd pay actual tax on the income they earned

Putting this into perspective, I own a small company and last year we turned over roughly 0.1% of their turnover and I will be paying around £10k in corporation tax 🙄🇬🇧

If you want to operate in the UK, you pay tax. New laws could be passed tomorrow if the gov wanted to...they don't, and you have to ask why

and both Labour and Tory allow this. They both focus on big business since they are the ones giving the donations, and jobs after their political careers are over. It's the small and middle size compared that being employment, and they can't compete against these government subsidies.

This is what bugs me about it the “billionaire will just close their businesses and leave” wealth tax argument. Okay … and we’ll suddenly not want those services or products anymore? THEY DON’T MAKE THE DEMAND. Somebody who stays will fill the supply gap - AND PAY TAX.

One thousand per cent this. I've been freelance for 13 years. I had the shock of my life when I realised my first Corporation Tax bill was bigger than Facebook UK's Corporation Tax.
