when my grandmother was in hospice care, confined to her bed, my mom made some dinner and brought it to her and we and the nurses all ate together. after we were done my grandmother said "that was so good I think I'll stick around a little longer!" she passed four days later. I don't remember what we ate, but I'll never forget her saying that

My Dad was diabetic and when he was dying, he was allowed to eat all the foods that he had to avoid most of his life.

I’m a firm believer that the person dying should have whatever they want before they pass away. My mom wanted on last cigarette even though she was dying from lung cancer. My grandma wanted a beer before she passed. That last cigarette, beer, food or whatever is not going to change anything. Let them enjoy their last moments ♥️

I worked in research in pediatric oncology and a little boy on study had a poor prognosis. He woke up one day & asked for a Coke, which they gladly gave him. Poor thing passed later that day. It broke my heart. 💔

A family friend passed away and after his service, all his favorite things were served.

When my grandfather died he could barely eat anything, he asked my mom to make him a lane cake (if you're from Alabama you know) and he ate the whole thing and died shortly after he finished it

My grandfather was 95, he had a whiskey long before cocktail hour, took a nap and died while was asleep.

My dad was battling cancer. One day we invited a bunch of family over and in middle of the day, when we were all in the room with him he quietly passed away surrounded by loved ones. I miss you Dad.
