@imagineandattract: Follow @imagineandattract to manifest your dream life! ✨ There are instructions that sound protective but quietly point attention in the exact direction they were meant to avoid. Don’t fail. Don’t spill. Don’t mess this up. Most people never question the language running in the background. But certain fields do. Pilots learn it. Athletes learn it. Performers learn it. Because under pressure, attention behaves differently than logic. And sometimes the harder the mind tries to push something away… the larger it becomes. Maybe focus is less like a spotlight and more like a compass. Maybe the world that appears is shaped long before action ever begins. Swipe through and notice what your mind reaches for before you tell it where to go. 🔍 Verified Sources 1. Wegner, 1987 | DOI: 10.1037/0022-3514.53.1.5 2. Kosslyn et al., 2001 | DOI: 10.1038/35066572
We use that concept when avoiding obstacles on motorcycles. Object Fixation will make you hit what you’re trying to avoid. Focus on where you want to go not where you’re trying to avoid.

I use it in parental training coaching and mentoring. teaching parents to use virtuous vocabulary instead of vice. instead of " that was dumb/stupid" we teach "you can make a wiser choice" encouraging words trigger better success in children

I get it, but in the same sense this can't be used for everything. maybe it changes your mood, but in reality it doesn't do a thing

it's also called neuro-linguistic programming. salesman use it. I'm a therapist and I'm reminding clients all the time to say something in a positive way.

The most common example I see is “don’t forget to…”. This should always be replaced with “remember to…”

This was known well before 1987 by motorbike riders and golfers and when I learmed to fly gliders in 1976 we were taught to focus only on the landing strip (the obstacles each side of the strip, like parked cars, were never mentioned).

Harvey Peinick's Red Book says the same thing. He discovered this for golf decades earlier than 1987

Interesting, and these affirmation types say it’s how the universe works but it’s how we work 😅

Positive affirmations can re-shape your reality, it’s what CBT basically is, reframing towards the positive perspective shifts your energy to expanded experiences. 💅💕

It’s like parents say don’t do this or don’t do that. You need to find your own way to do it and be successful

"Hold on" to a life support mechanism works better than " Don't let go". Overwhelming domonstrated in cognitive psychology.
