Ted DiBiase Jr Facing Decades In Prison The federal trial of former WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase Jr. is currently underway in Jackson, Mississippi. DiBiase Jr. is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds, and four counts of money laundering. Prosecutors allege that DiBiase Jr. misappropriated approximately $3 million in federal welfare funds intended for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. During opening statements, the prosecution claimed these funds were obtained through "sham contracts" for leadership training services that were never provided. The government alleges the money was used to purchase a vehicle, a boat, a $1.5 million residence in the Reunion subdivision, and a $700,000 personal investment account. The defense argued that DiBiase Jr. is innocent and was manipulated by John Davis, the former director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS). DiBiase’s attorney described Davis as a "lonely, middle-aged man" who sought a connection with the DiBiase family. The defense maintains DiBiase intended to fulfill the contracts. Testimony began with former MDHS internal auditor David Barton. Barton testified that while DiBiase had an office on the agency's executive floor and attended meetings with Davis, there were no records of him performing the contracted work. DiBiase’s brother, Brett DiBiase, and John Davis have previously pleaded guilty to charges related to the welfare scandal. If convicted on all counts, Ted DiBiase Jr. faces a potential sentence of decades in federal prison. #TedDiBiaseJr #MississippiWelfareScandal #FederalCourt #WrestlingNews #LawAndOrder
