I think John underplayed this. I’m living this exact situation. There are many variables. However, both need to be comfortable in the home. Would anyone buy a home that their spouse didn’t like? It’s a previous life he had and she needs to feel completely immersed in their new life together.

This is exactly why most couples choose a place together and move in to it rather than move into one of the others place . It’s very common to want a fresh start in a new place. However the fact she agreed to staying is making this extra tricky .

As someone who was in that position: Moving 100% helped 😅 We had to for reasons beyond my emotions. If it made sense to stay, we would have renovated 90% of the house to make it ours & not theirs.
