@janieleigh11: There are a few ways to help things go smoothly when introducing a new hermit crab to the tank, like how I just did with Sushi!🫶🏼🐚 Lots of animal protein, plenty of shells of appropriate sizes for each hermie, and lots of different hiding and climbing space to share. Hermit crabs are very social animals that thrive with companions, but it’s important we provide them with plenty of resources for them to comfortably share and not feel the need to compete for survival:) It’s normal and natural for hermit crabs to establish a pecking order, assert dominance, and a little bit of a “hazing” process when they first meet lol.
