Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, has directed that private school fees across Dubai will remain completely frozen for the 2026 to 2027 academic year, and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority has officially confirmed the decision. For thousands of families across the emirate, this is one of the most welcome announcements of the year because it removes the single biggest unknown from the back to school planning cycle. The fee freeze is part of Dubai’s second economic incentives package valued at AED 1.5 billion, which brings the total value of recent support measures introduced in the emirate to AED 2.5 billion. The package includes 33 initiatives that will be rolled out over the next 3 to 12 months across education, tourism, trade, and customs, and within education the relief goes beyond just families because KHDA regulated private schools will also benefit from deferred or instalment based licence renewal fees and deferral of fines, easing operational pressure across the sector. The authority also announced plans to add 7,500 new affordable school seats over the next two years, building on the 9,000 affordable seats already introduced this academic year, which now brings the total number of students enrolled in affordable education in Dubai to around 230,000. KHDA is currently reviewing more than 30 applications for new private schools after six institutions opened their doors this year alone, while overall student enrolment across Dubai private schools grew 6 percent in 2025. With 17 curriculum options on offer, more than 95 percent of students attending in person classes, and the Education 33 Strategy guiding long term planning, Dubai continues to position itself as one of the most family friendly and forward looking education hubs in the region, and decisions like this fee freeze are exactly why the emirate keeps attracting global families year after year. #dubaicollege #education #dubaieducation #educational #faz
