Known as the “Desert Fox,” he was respected for his military skill, bold tactics, and ability to lead troops in difficult conditions. Although he served under the third reich, Rommel later became linked to opposition against the regime. In 1944, after being implicated in a plot against the regime, he was forced to take his own life. Today, Rommel is remembered as one of Germany’s most talented military commanders
