@savehorsessanctuary: Yet another case that makes us think about the reality of traction animals. Today we take care of this donkey rescued by a save horse sanctuary in a state of severe malnutrition and presenting a severe hematuria, associated with kidney compromise. Hematology and imaging scans were performed to help us better understand the extent of the changes and best direct treatment. Unfortunately, this is the reality of many stroller animals who, after years of work and service, are simply abandoned when they are no longer useful. Animals that dedicated their lives to daily effort end up suffering from hunger, disease and neglect This patient's rescue represents a new opportunity, but it also reinforces the need for more awareness, responsibility and respect for these animals.
