@glaced1: My last major traumatic event was 2 years ago and this is what I've noticed. I don't get flashbacks the way most people think. My brain doesn't mind remembering—but my immune system and body reacts. For reference I'm in my early 20s, so it might be more different than anyone else who has cptsd. There might be more about it that I haven't discovered just yet. EDIT: I realized I didn’t correctly finish the acronym is slide 2. CPTSD stands for Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder* #CPTSD #PTSD #fyp #fypシ #ADHD
dude the emotional numbness is so real, as somebody with c-ptsd there are periods of time where i deadass feel nothing

Does anyone else have near constant nightmares? I’ve gotten so used to mine that they don’t startle me anymore, but there’s always one or two that get to me

i might have C-PTSD but i wouldn't be able to get a diagnosis because 1. my mom doesn't let me get diagnoses for anything psychological and 2. she's kinda the reason i might have it so i wouldn't be able to explain anything

This is dead on my experience. Especially the talking about memories without feeling anything behind them. My therapist once said I sounded like someone reporting on news rather than a victim.

Could I ask how to request a CPTSD diagnosis..? Due to it not being in the DSM5 I assume, I’ve only ever been told they’d run tests for PTSD, but I don’t believe I suffer from typical PTSD in every way ranging cause to symptoms since it does have very specific differences, but I’d feel very awkward asking

I have C-PTSD and this is very relatable to me and it's nice to see ppl talk about it because ppl never take me seriously when I say it.

Bro that random ass pain you get when you start to cry for no reason too? Or is that just me, OH or like feeling the overwhelming feeling like crawling up your neck and you just lowkey Tweek out and twitch for a second and then you're like fine... Just me?

My triggers are so random like I’m fine talking about what happened to me but I’ll see something like a random character from a tv show or a random item and get triggered

I basically never sleep through the night, it's really weird. I'll always wake up at least once (often twice) in the middle of the night and have to go back to sleep, but if I sleep during the day I sleep just fine.

ooohhh i thought sleep disruptions meant it followed up with a reason (like a nightmare)…. so when i was being evaluated for ptsd i just said no disturbances with sleep (despite me having an awful sleep schedule)

I personally have issues falling asleep, but then i sleep 8 to 10 Hours
My Dad told me though that my breathing is unusually fast compared to the relaxed breathing most People have when sleeping, so maybe I'm having nightmares and just don't remember them or my body is constant high alert 🤷🏻♂️I am always really tired during the Day, so maybe my C-PTSD DOES affect my Sleep and that's why I'm constantly exhausted
Maybe i should go to a Sleep Study or something like that
