The family didnt pay the big bucks so that “cheap” attorney did a cheap defense. A lawfirm would have pulled out several like cases that been through supreme courts with a ruling in defendant favor.

I am shocked that their advocate recommended this attorney. Personally, I would have advised Melo's parents against this immediately. As a DFW resident, I would never hire a local white attorney for a trial of this nature. The legal community here is tightly knit, creating an inherent conflict of interest because everyone knows each other. If you are going to hire a non-Black attorney, it is safer to find representation from outside the DFW metroplex, or ideally, from outside of Texas.
