I never met him, but learning about his life made me feel connected to his story. It felt like I had lost someone I knew, like a relative. His story truly touched my heart. He seemed so kind and genuine. What hurts the most is knowing that everything he achieved came from pure hard work. No connections, no shortcuts—just dedication, discipline, and countless sacrifices. He was finally stepping into the life he had worked so hard for and getting closer to his dreams, yet this tragedy happened. He worked not only for himself but also for his family, which makes it even more heartbreaking. Reading his last message to his coach truly broke my heart. :( I may not have known him personally, but his story left a mark on me. I hope justice will prevail, and I hope his family finds the strength to get through this unimaginable loss 🙏🏻

it's really heartbreaking. as i saw the interview dun sa resort, BEFORE the incident happened, the owner of the resort and also the authorities told the coach na it's really dangerous to do some trainings/activities kasi may mangyayari po ng malaking talon—still he did it—antigas talaga ng ulo. di man lang niya iniisip na open water pa naman, not pool. HINDI ENOUGH YUNG SORRY especially hindi lang si rene yung namatay pati na rin si divine. both needs justice—sobrang sayang mo, ateneo. you were once someone's dream school, na sa inyo na lahat pero andyan pa rin pagiging neglect niyo sa mga estudyante. hindi talaga kayo natuto, ateneo.
