How do I start? This is probably my most asked question. I had tried on and off for decades to lose weight and become “fit” in my 30’s and 40’s and my weight was up and down. I’d start a new program / diet / plan etc and I’d do it for awhile (and get results) until it just felt really hard and I gave up. This time was different. I was almost 50 when I started and I had a WHY. The why is critical. But where you have to start goes beyond your why. You need to have a clear, compelling and exciting VISION of the body / life / person you are creating. I thought about this future me every day. • What she felt like (more confident, not “hiding” in public, at peace) • How she showed up differently (what my relationships looked like, how I interacted with clients on sales calls, my friendships, my social life) • What her habits looked like (lifting weights, eating foods that made me feel good vs numbing my feelings) • How she looked (what it felt like to have my clothes fit again, to see muscle on my body and yes even to be able to wear a bikini) • What my energy was like (to be able to walk up the hill near my house without stopping, to carry my groceries up the stairs on my own) I thought about everything. In detail. I also started DREAMING again…and I came up with some really big goals for my life. When I began lifting weights and tracking my macros on the same day at age 49, this vision was my North Star. I wanted this future so badly and I was willing to be RELENTLESS for it. I kept it all in a journal and I’d add to it and refine it regularly. I’d review it when things got hard…because the path is never easy. And this is what made the difference for me….I really came to know in my mind the life that I’d miss out on if I didn’t make this happen. And I wanted that life. Badly. It’s been 5 years now and my life looks a lot like what I imagined. I still do these things. Only my goals keep getting bigger…we usually dream too small. Start with your VISION, my Midlife Sisters. Then relentlessly pursue the life you deserve ❤️ #midlifetransformation #genx #fitover40 #fitnessjourney
