I went down a rabbit hole recently on Mercedes Vega in Arizona. She was 22, and was kidnapped, tortured and burned alive in a car in 2023 after deciding to go on the stand against a man that had robbed her at gun point a few years prior. Turns out the young black man that robbed her, hired two other black men to kill her when he found out she was testifying. This case is horrific and I can’t help but feel it didn’t get more attention because it didn’t fit the current media narrative that’s being pushed to us. Hell I’m in Arizona and barely heard about it.
