Time to stop blaming your parents for your youth. There is still time. I’m 63 and just started piano lessons. Took up scuba diving and became a volleyball official. Life is fun trying new things and it’s not too late.

I get this take. Because sports and other lessons are not teaching you just that thing alone. It’s a way to socialize, learn to be a team player, to be disciplined, know how to be a gracious loser, to see things through etc. Even if you don’t continue those things as an adult it makes you a much more interesting person overall. People underestimate the impact of these experiences in early childhood. But sometimes it does come down to parents not having the time or money as well

Sooo my mom made me try (and finish) a million things not of my choosing and I hated them all and I'm resentful over it. My adult hobbies have nothing to do with any of them. So I went the route of your mom with my oldest - he's got hobbies and talents that he came across organically in school and social situations.
