@shilohfarm: How many farmers and ranchers are over 65? Approximately 40% of all farmers and ranchers are over the age of 65 which is a number that’s increased by 12% over the last ten years. The average age of a U.S. farm producer is 58.1 years. Despite what you may think, AI and technology are not going to replace farmers. Although they may not like to quit, in the next 20 years or so there’s going to be a major shift in agriculture as farmers and ranchers either die off or eventually retire. Which begs the question. Who is going to take over? Will the next generation step up? Can they even afford to take over? Will AI data centers take over all farmland anyway? These are the questions we need to start asking. #farming #agriculture #facts #education #shilohfarm

Can I grow anything after summer? I’m lowkey new to gardening and when summer ends nothing of mine will be growing (I think)

They overprice their land and actual farming is just too expensive these days

As a garden consultant I’m already seeing the future where we have to grow food inside instead of outside. Don’t come at me but gardeners see climate change in the garden especially growing food like I am for self sufficiency 💔

The % wouldn’t be that high if they would realize that people can’t live on $10 an hour when even an apartment in a smaller town is $800-1000 a month

We have a data center being built about a mile away from our house. They tore up about 6 whole fields of corn. 3 are filled with solar panels. It's crazy.

As an FFA kid with no agricultural background but has fell in love with farming and ranching I hope that out of 1,042,245 kids in FFA at least 60% will pursue in the farming and ranching industry.
