“We need more well written fanfics.” Not every fanfic is going to have beautifully written prose. These are normal people behind the screen not published authors. Those well written fanfics are rare and yes fun to be like but “this IS better than anything published” . . .yet they will forever be rare because behind the screen they are normal people writing them. For fun. For free. For the love of the idea in their head.

Another issue is gen Ai. Readers want immediate results, they've lost patience due to chat bots, and get mad when the writer isn't doing daily or weekly chapters. I once saw a comment where a guy was offering to start writing chapters of the fic. Not as, hey author I want to help you. No, it was, the last update was months ago, I'm just going to copy their work into my own and post chapters on how I think and want the story to go. Several comments were supporting the jerk!!

Also if you like something PLEASE COMMENT. If you don't know what to write, just write "I'm not good with comments, but I love this!" It makes a writers day, and they know people are actually reading their fics.
