@melaniesandford18: Welcome to day two of my castor oil series— every day for the next two weeks. I’m going to give you a new recipe using castor oil and today is: hemorrhoid relief. Castor oil can be very soothing, helping to reduce pain inflammation and irritation. It can also help to increase blood flow and increase healing to an area where it is applied. Witch hazel is a gentle astringent and can help to reduce itching and burning, as well as provide a cooling, soothing sensation especially if you refrigerate it ahead of time. Here’s what you will need: 1 tablespoon of cold pressed, hexane free, castor oil and 1 tablespoon of alcohol, free witch hazel. Make sure to stir them well or shake the jar before soaking the cotton pad or cotton cloth in it. Squeeze out excess liquid from the cloth. Apply to the external hemorrhoid 5 to 10 minutes then remove it and pat dry. This can be repeated one to two times daily. I’ve had many people tell me that just playing castor oil helped their hemorrhoids so you could try that first and if you need some extra relief, you can add the witch hazel.
