A Hamilton County grand jury returned the indictment after prosecutors alleged Lee brutally killed Perpetuo inside their Tennessee home in February. An autopsy found she suffered multiple blunt force injuries, bone fractures, stab wounds, and other traumatic injuries. Lee remains jailed without bond as prosecutors consider whether to seek the death penalty. Prosecutors also revealed that Lee allegedly used ChatGPT to ask questions about injuries and how to seek medical help without alerting police before contacting authorities. A previous tampering with evidence charge was dropped so prosecutors could focus solely on the first degree murder case.
