Can people stop saying the reason it’s expensive is because of the government? It’s the greedy stores. As a store, to buy these things in bulk, you do realise it’s not the same price as what is on the shelves in the U.S.? They probably get that mousse for $5. When they pay customs and shipping in bulk, it’ll be like $9 per unit. In the U.S., they mark it up to $15 due to price control and competition. In the Bahamas, they mark it up out of greed in our too-free market to $27. The U.S. has laws against collusion. We don’t. So that’s why a can of tuna is $2 now when they import it for $0.30 after shipping and taxes.

You can get them a little less over the bridge by Lowe’s or something but it’ll still be more than what we spend here in the US. Importing and then profit is why the price is so high
