For example, the authority for apprehension comes from Article 7, UCMJ, which applies across all branches.

I remember as the SOG for my gate I went to the gate to cover for 1 soldier who had a medical appointment and during that time I scanned a ID and the scanner said armed and dangerous and I had to get the military police there to the gate and I notified the blue stuiters at the gate and they got him out of the car and handcuffed him it was a very interesting experience

Love my gate guards. Treat them with respect and dignity. Let them do their job. Before you know it, I’m getting jokes of the day and good humor. Don’t make their day hard; they literally want the same thing you do. To get you through the checkpoint and away from them asap.

I know a guy who worked the gat at the base in Japan. he said there was one guy who was always late returning to base and his CO told the gate guard to arrest him for disobeying a direct order if he ever showed up late again. he showed up 2 minutes late the next night and got an article 15 as a result
