we have a small town government running a big time country. very few in power are intelligent due to low expectations and weak spines letting the big dollar run the show. that and only one quarter of the nation is attractive to immigrants, so places like BC and Ontario are flooded with people while the smaller provinces and territories are begging for people. and those smaller places are beautiful but lack in public transport to get tourist's attraction. we could change the face of the nation with a large scale rail system meant solely for cheap travel, and grants to farmers in small communities to get labour that doesn't edge the line of exploitation. but, nooooo, let's fund all our foreign audiences with American pop stars and Chinese realty and corporate labour law loopholes. what could go wrong.
