Nia’s technique was pretty on point by season 4 enough to blend in very well. Given great choreography ie “Goodbye Maya” she was able to come out on top and Abby didn’t choreograph it James did soooo 👀 and given the fact she had to relearn how to walk let alone dance after being sick she deserves her flowers fr she worked hard af to get her technique on par with the rest!

And also she’s a lefty, and e edu group dance is right centric because that’s the normal. She had to learn how to walk again. How to dance again. And THEN how to dance REVERSED. She was miles ahead of those girls in terms if strength

This might be a HOT take but if you actively support Abby, have little dance experience, and haven’t read nias book, you can’t stay anything about her technique. I’ve seen a lot of people say she was a weak dancer or talking about her skills that don’t know the full story behind the show.

I loved watching Nia in the group dances. Blush and bashful is one of those dances I wish Nia would have gotten as a solo.

Something I wish was considered when talking about technique is lifetimes editing and agenda. Maddie slipped in the judged version of Fool me once and it wasn’t shown. Nia landed the front aerial in the judged version of Freedom in paradise and Chloe didn’t fall in the judged version of Broken dolls but they showed the reshoot version with the mistake to help the narrative of the show. It makes it harder to get an accurate reflection of each dancer’s technique.

Maybe at the beginning of the show but she was also learning how to walk again but when season 4 started she danced to mature and looked strong and confident doing it she might not be a pretty lyrical dancer but she sure is a mature one❤️

Yes this THANK YOU. Another thing is when it came to solos that she looked great in, like she would do turns, and had beautiful leaps, they wouldn't air it. like she did a solo named Cathedral, and the quality of the video is horrendous, but you can still see her and tell how good was was doing, and I'm not talking about the solo she did on the reunion, yes, that is the solo, but they water down the choreography a lot. If anyone's ever bored, I would really suggest for you to watch the one she competed.

She had very good technique if you see her videos that she did outside of Aldc when she went to Alvin alley she did so well and had very good technique

she was also at a disadvantage because she was a left turn and had to do right turns in the groups even in her so she didn’t really get to show off our skills because of how she was casted

Mia was actually a great dancer she just wasn’t a techy dancer, she had beautiful movement quality and expressions…dance is not sticking your leg in the air it’s the movement that isn’t tricks

I think she had bad technique at Abby speed. Abby aimed to shove a lot in when other coregrephers worked with her it wasn't bad not going say the best but one Nia best moments was s6 Bollywood dance wgen coregrapher had her section slow it was very clean.
