My therapist told me we carry generational trauma up to like 5-8 generations back. So ex: someone could grow up in a perfect home and in there adult life have terrible anxiety, it’s because they could be going through something that their mother went through 5-8 generations ago that they have no idea about.

Small correction, Epigenetics doesn’t change the genetic coding. It more like turns parts of the code on/off. The code is already there & stays the same but it doesn’t always have to be “activated.” Otherwise it’s an interesting hypothesis that I would love to see studied
