@tiffintech: An AI trained on 178,000 retinal photographs can now detect early Alzheimer’s with 93% accuracy, using a standard eye camera. The model reads patterns in blood vessel geometry that are invisible to the human eye, because the retina is the one place in the nervous system where you can photograph the brain’s decline directly. This is what early detection looks like now. SOURCES: 1. Graefe’s Archive (Springer), May 2026 2. Nature npj Digital Medicine, Oct 2024 3. BrightFocus Foundation, Feb 2025

AI should not be replacing jobs, it should be enhancing jobs by value adding. otherwise there is no value to human kind

It is probably better to call this a “machine learning model”. I get that AI may technically be accurate, but the public perception of what constitutes AI is way different, to the point where using that term is misleading.

It doesn’t “see” it just connects patterns via math. It’s fascinating, but everyone needs to chill tf out

AI is an ambiguous term, this type of model has been used for medical diagnostics for more than 10 years and works nothing like ChatGPT. no one called it "AI" then but now people put it in the same category as grok.

More training data = more accuracy, not more patterns. For that you’d need a bigger model.

This is btw the same research that brings us generative AI. The people releasing image generation are the same people using that money to improve those models which are then used in science
