Yhwach (ユーハバッハ? , Yūhabahha ) is the main antagonist of the final part of Bleach , the leader of the Vandenreich, progenitor of the Quincy and son of the Spirit King . He possesses the Shrift "A", a letter that stands for "The Almighty" ( ? , Ji Arumaitī , lit. "The Almighty")The wolf packジ・アルマイティー and the ability to foresee the future and cancel the effects of abilities he has seen or knows about. His appearance is that of a middle-aged man, with long black hair that reaches his shoulders, thick sideburns, and a large moustache. His usual attire consists of a white military uniform and a long black cloak secured by a pin with the symbol of the Vandenreich. Born with severe disabilities, Yhwach possessed the gift of infusing part of his soul into other people to heal them of their ailments; Furthermore, whenever those people died, he recovered their soul fragments, progressively healing and acquiring the deceased's abilities and knowledge. Because of these mysterious powers, men began to call him by the name of their god, YHWH , and Yhwach decided that would be his name. A thousand years before the beginning of the story, Yhwach fought against Shigekuni Genryūsai Yamamoto and lost his powers. To regain them, Yhwach stole those of the Gemischt Quincy, that is, the Quincy with mixed blood that he considered impure, causing the death of, among others, the mothers of Uryū Ishida and Ichigo Kurosaki . Seventeen months after the defeat of Sōsuke Aizen , Yhwach invades the Soul Society, intending to take the place of the king of souls to create a world without death. After killing Yamamoto by depriving him of his bankai, he reaches the palace of the King of Souls, eliminating the royal guard and arriving before the king, killing him despite Ichigo's intervention. After absorbing the king's powers and easily defeating the protagonist, he begins to unite the human world and the Soul Society, but is stopped again by Ichigo who, thanks to the help of Aize, Ishida and Renji Abarai , manages to defeat and kill him.
