Hopefully the characters part made sense it was just like naming some characters that got SA’d. So let’s get to the point, Haunting Adeline should NOT be a movie. Not only is haunting adeline romantisizing rape, Stockholm syndrome, stalking, sexual abuse, etc. but it is also going to influence men in real life into thinking that violating a woman’s boundaries or doing anything that Zade did to Adeline is acceptable even if he claims he loves her. Fiction and reality are two very different things, and it’s an extremely important distinction to keep. And honestly as rude as this may sound, H.D. Carlton is setting us back as women. It’s a shame that her books romanticize the most disgusting and cruel things anyone could ever go through. And it’s even worse that people genuinely enjoy it.
